Software for calculation for EN 13445-3

If you or your company wishes to invest in a calculation software to calculate pressure tankes/vessels/flanges/dished ends/cone ect. I can recommend the following softwares:

• dimY (now available for Windows, but still also in Dos mode.

• LV-Soft (Lauterbach Verfahrenstechnik).

LV-soft can be found and purchased on the this site: http://www.lv-soft.com/

I recommend that you try the trials version before purchasing, they work for a period of 30 days.

Both program types is very easy to use and I feel that you quickly learns to operate it.

Both programs is in the cheap end of the scale of pressure calculation programs that is available today (2009).

But as I posted in the my first blog, you can also (easily) make you own program in MS Excel or another spreadsheet program. All you need is to have buy the book (the book also contains a lot of curves and diagram that is very helpfully along the way of calculation).

EN 13445-3: Calculation of cone with large end and knuckled area

Help to calculation of the ej og ej' value in EN 13445-3 issue: Cone with large end and knuckled area. As it is stated in the calculation book in different places, that a computer process calculation i recommend, here a simeple program like MS Excel can easily make this calculation for you, the only thing you need in your spreedsheet is to have two ej values, one that is by the equation ej after the book, and they other is for a manuel input, to calculated with in the next steps of the calculation. For specifed help to this or mathematical problems, please contact me by mail, and I will sent a "help" spredsheet showing the calculation. If this blog allows mathamatical formulares, I will post a solution for this problem. But to summerise, do not get scared by some of the suggestions in the book, I have found that you dont need to spend a lot of money in your company for by the calculation softwares, if you have the mathematical skills by forexample mech. eng. It will take a very short time to makes this calculations in forexample in MS excel, I know, I have done it for my company. Look forward to discuss this pressure vessel standard with all of you.
